Pushing Joomla!
When we came to revamp the 247.tv web site, we looked around to see the best platform for us to use. Joomla! provided us with a massive amount of flexibility and functionality to build this platform upon. 3 components, 15 modules and 5 plug-ins turns Joomla! from a content management system into a video streaming platform, and the clients don't even see most of the work! All of the management for 247.tv is done in Joomla!, providing a simple and uniformed way to manage 20+ sports with 400+ tournament with an average of 40 matches per tournament and around three videos per match!
Video
Integration with two different type of Video Streaming Server deployed over a custom-made dynamic content delivery system is done without any real headaches. We've created a custom set of applications for Adobe Flash Media Interactive Server and Wowza Media Server to limit and control video access ensuring that the right people are watching the right video.
Platform
The videos on 247.tv are escaping onto other web sites! It's the video platform that's used on Pentathlon.org (another one of our clients) so they can embed, stream and control video play-lists of content that 247.tv film at their events.
